Supernova channel vintage Strictly on this excellent single-tracker

What we're gonna do right here is go back... waaayy back!

Older heads may remember Endangered Species' Ping Pong, which came out on Strictly Rhythm in 1992, and which reworked the piano vamp from Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers' 1963 jazz classic of the same name. Well, now that very same piano vamp makes an appearance - alongside some fine sax work and bursts of Blakey's original drums - on this single-tracker from Italian duo Supernova, which comes on their own Lapsus Music label, only this time sitting atop a more contemporary house (bordering on tech-house) beat.

There's really not much more to say: the track's essentially a looping, groove-based affair, and admittedly you either like jazz-inspired house or you don't. But the hepcats are going to be cutting many a rug to this one for sure, daddio – it's the mezz!
