Remastered tracks can be streamed/downloaded thanks to a new deal with Defected
The entire back catalogue of legendary New Jersey garage producer Todd Edwards can now be purchased or streamed digitally legally for the first time, thanks to a new catalogue deal with Defected.
Now based in Los Angeles, Edwards rose to fame in the mid-90s with a distinctive sound that centred around chopped-up beats and vocals, a style he once very modestly told iDJ was the result of him trying to sound like MK and failing. Working primarily with i! Records, he became something of a figurehead for the burgeoning UK garage scene with tracks like Saved My Life and Never Far From You, as well as landmark remixes for Indo's R U Sleeping?' and, perhaps most notably of all, St Germain's Alabama Blues.
Now, following similar catalogue deals Defected have done lately with other arists including Mike Dunn and DJ Gregory, all 140 of his original productions have been digitally remastered, and are available online as of today. A series of vinyl reissues, remixes and a Todd Edwards House Masters compilation are also in the pipeline.
