The EP features tracks from Alex A, Starbai, Antton and Kill The Underground
This multi-genre, multi-artist release features two regulars to the label, Alex A and Starbai with tech and deep house monsters entitled Chicago and Paradise respectively, and two newbies, Antton with his downtempo houser Health In Your Body and Kill The Underground with their tech-house outing Jack That Body.
Chicago starts with an echoed male spoken vocal sample saying, er, “Chicago” repeatedly, and builds with percussion and risers into a throbbing chugger with the vocal sample going through a variety of other effects. Paradise is more of a slow-burner, with a simple distorted drum pattern, a funky bassline, synth stabs and two separate vocal samples. Health In Your Body has a tribal feel to the intro, which has conga loops and crowd samples, then builds with a piano riff and female vocals to what sounds an evangelical speech, sampled to very good effect. Finally, Jack That Body is a deep tech-house track with a minimal feel, and features vocal samples saying the title, sirens, a deep distorted bassline, cowbells and a driving feel overall.
Words can't truly express the majesty of this four-track EP, which will be very well received by fans of the aforementioned genres. I'd strongly advise you to check it out for yourself, because in this case, hearing is believing as regards how good this release actually is. My favourites are Chicago and Jack That Body, but all four will move dancefloors for sure.
