Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax's label come up with the goods yet again

It probably doesn't need spelling out, but here we have a 15-track sampler collecition from one of Spain's reliable deep house labels, Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax's MoodyHouse Recordings.

It's only nine months since we last reviewed a MoodyHouse compilation (their bumper value 100th birthday package, back in November last year). During that time the landscape has changed radically in many ways, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic and the political situation… but house music hasn't. Accordingly, most of what we said then applies here, too. MoodyHouse still specialise in ACTUAL deep house music in its many shades. The jazzier end of the deep house spectrum is still a particularly strong point, but the label's output still, nevertheless, takes in a range of styles and sub-sub-genres. And MoodyHouse are still able to attract a wealth of respected names to their roster.

So with cuts from the likes of Bonetti, Carlos Perikas and Paul Najera & Jr Quijada, not to mention Jazzman Wax himself (Montoro being notable by his absence this time out), deep house lovers are strongly advised to check this one out. It might not pack 100 tracks for a tenner like the last one, but the quality standard is still just as high.
