Quarterly residencies move to Fridays, allowing XOYO to take care of Saturdays in-house
For several years now, Saturday nights at XOYO in Shoreditch, London have centred around 'quarterly residencies', where one DJ plays for 13 weeks and curates their own line-up of guests. But the latest quarterly resident, Oneman, is taking care of Fridays instead - leaving Saturdays free (once DJ Harvey's 13 weeks finish at the end of this month) for XOYO to introduce a new in-house promotion called 'XOYO Loves'.
The line-ups for the first four months have just been announced, and it has to be said they've got some impressive names coming to play. Omar S will headline the first XOYO Loves on 1 September, followed the week after by Jeremy Underground and Seven Davis Jr. 1 October sees François Kevorkian at the helm, with other October highlights including Greg Wilson on 15 October and Wolf+Lamb on 22 October.
November sees visits by Deetron and Marquis Hawkes (5 November), Dimitri From Paris (12 November) and Motor City Drum Ensemble (19 November), while in December you can catch George Fitzgerald and Italo Johnson (3 December), Horse Meat Disco vs Honey Soundsystem (10 December) and the legendary Tony Humphries (17 December).
Announcing the news, XOYO said: "A permanent fixture to our programming, XOYO Loves will now stand as a testament to how far the club has come, all about in-house curation, uncompromisingly showcasing the music, DJs and artists we love, week in week out."
For full details of all nights, see the XOYO website.
