Swiss producer Bonjour comes to Raul Figueroa's label
Raul Figueroa's IWant Music bring us an EP from Swiss producer and RELIKTS label boss Yves Bonjour that's likely to find favour right across the minimal/deep tech/deep house spectrum.
There are three tracks to choose from. First up is Backslider itself, which is pretty much in the classic deep house vein with its warm, mellifluous bassline and steady 4/4 kick, only the twitchy top-end percussion and aquatic FX giving its very traditional blueprint a bit of 21st Century minimalist polish. And that's not a complaint, by the way! Dreamy Plucks, which follows, is in a very similar vein but (ironically) a little less dreamy and more energetic, while completing the EP is Metallic Tree, which is essentially a third variation on the same theme but augmented in this instance with vocal microsnips.
If deep electronic grooves that veer towards the minimal and twitchy side of things but, crucially, keep Da Funk intact sound like your idea of a good time, do yourself a favour and check for this one.
